#TabletopRadar: VÄSTERGÅRDEN

As mentioned in our last #TabletopRadar, the jargon behind ceramics and dinnerware in general can be a little repetitive to those that live and breathe Tabletop. However, that doesn’t mean more traditional and practical ceramics are boring.

Our latest #TabletopRadar, Västergården is trying to prove that!

From the tattoos, to the sprinkling of hip hop references throughout their site, to their handmade ceramics, Västergården oozes swagger. There’s a youthful energy to them that feels fun and right.

Västergården’s running theme, in terms of aesthetic, is organic. While every piece has unique elements to them, they all maintain a certain “of Earth” element to them.

This is clear in products like their Aska Plates which mimics the grey tones of Ash or their Berg Bowls reminiscent of Swedish boulders and stones.

Västergården are chef darlings. You can already find their work being put to good use in over 18 restaurants across Europe, including Pasteleria. Last we checked Västergården has yet to update their Catalog from Fall 2014, however a quick scroll through their IG makes it clear they’re still coming up with new and exciting ways to show #tabletopmatters.

We’d love to see more from Västergården. Particularly, we’d love to see a new catalog that lays out the range and capabilities of their company for 2017.
