“We know our readers are busy people,” says TabletopJournal Editor & Chief Evangelist Dave Turner. “Further, our primary target audience is a group that is very accustomed to the podcast format. So, consistent with our mission to deliver relevant content to our readers in relevant formats, we are excited to step into the podcast arena.”

TabletopJournal’s new Podcast Library starts with several interviews from leading tabletop designers and other industry experts. Initially, the TabletopJournal Podcast Library is available through their website – www.TabletopJournal.com – and, through the SoundCloud Global Audio Platform. SoundCloud, based in Berlin, is the world’s leading social sound platform that enables users to listen to a variety of originally-created audio events wherever they may be. Also under development is access to TabletopJournal’s Podcast Library through the iTunes sound platform library. This should be available within the next 30 days.

According to Pew Research studies, the percentage of Americans who have listened to a podcast in the past month has almost doubled since 2008, from 9% to 17% by January of 2015. The percentage listening in 2015 was up two points over 2014 levels (15%). In fact, Edison Research also reported that fully one-third (33%) of all Americans 12 years of age or older now say they have listened to at least one podcast.

“Clearly, growth in podcast listening is strong,” says Turner. “Today’s active lifestyles insure that this trend is likely to continue. Our podcast library will simply be a supplement to our growing website readership, allowing those who prefer the podcast format to access to some our most interesting our content in that way”
