Great new’s for Stolzle’s famed Glencairn glass. “Scotch’s hangover may finally be clearing” is the opening line in a Wall Street Journal online article today.

The WSJ.com article goes on to say, “It has been a groggy couple of years for Scotland’s most valuable export. After a high-spirited boom, problems in Brazil, Russia and other key emerging markets encouraged drinkers to trade down from scotch, a prestige tipple, to cheaper, often locally distilled hooch. In 2013 and 2014 the number of bottles of scotch sold globally fell, according to data provider IWSR; in 2015 they were flat. Yet 2016 is looking better. Diageo, the U.K.-listed drinks giant that accounts for over two-fifths of industry sales, on Thursday posted expectation-busting results for the six months through December. A recovery in scotch was a key driver: Like-for-like sales of the company’s Scottish whisky portfolio, which is dominated by the Johnnie Walker brand, rose 6% year over year, up from flat in the financial year through June 2016.”

As the only glass approved by the Scotch Whisky Association, the Glencairn glass is the perfect vehicle to serve your guests a dram or two of the favorite amber adult beverage. Remember, your guests will appreciate you serving them in the proper glass for two reasons (actually three)… 1) serving your scotch whisky guests in the Glencairn glass shows them you respect the spirit by using the proper glassware; and 2) it also shows them that you appreciate and respect the guest as a scotch whisky aficionado in your establishment.

But, the third – and best – reason your guests will appreciate you serving their scotch whisky in the Glencairn glass is they’re likely to enjoy their whisky just a bit more when it’s served in the proper glass! After all, isn’t that what’s all about?!
