Villeroy & Boch USA Inc’s Food Service Division is set to debut a variety of new collections at the upcoming trade fair. Continuing the trend of adding color and texture to restaurant tabletops, Villeroy & Boch has several new collections that will work in harmony with your existing dinnerware – or can bring a totally new look for a chef’s food presentations.
The Rock
The Rock Collection: Add a Slate-Like Look to the Table
Among the newest of these collections is THE ROCK. The Rock collection from Villeroy & Boch combines premium porcelain with high-quality craftsmanship inspired by natural materials with strong color accents. Available in The Rock Black Shale and The Rock White Glacier, this collection offers a look that resembles natural slate, thanks to a light glaze that’s added over the porcelain to give the pieces that rustic, from-nature look. The Rock Black Shale resembles natural slate, offering a deep midnight black backdrop for your culinary creations, while The Rock White Glacier offers a crisp white slate-like culinary stage.
Artesano Ocean
Artesano Ocean: A Kaleidoscope of Colors Inspired by the Changing Tides
The breath-taking kaleidoscope of ocean colors captivates like no other natural phenomena–cool blue shades are refreshing, while warm turquoise entices you into the water. Inspired by nature’s bold colors, Villeroy & Boch created the ARTESANO OCEAN collection in expressive colors of Atlantic Blue and Pacific Green.
The Artesano Ocean decor features concentric circles that have a calming and harmonious effect, much like the rippling tide. Artesano Ocean is completely painted by hand, with the exception of the plate rims as they are protected by a transparent, delicate glaze; their crisp white contrasts beautifully against the bold cobalt blue and turquoise colors. The manual application of the rough, structural glaze colors gives Artesano Ocean a very artisanal feel, underlining the original character and award-winning shape of the Artesano collection.
The mugs in this collection are decorated with just a light splash of color, painted on the inside rim of the white mugs. The Artesano Ocean collection pairs perfectly with pieces from our Artesano collection, providing chefs with plenty of freedom to place their own stamp on their culinary creations–all thanks to the collection’s simplistic design. Additionally, the Artesano Ocean collection pairs perfectly with the pieces made of acacia wood, cork, and glass from our Artesano collection. All pieces in the Artesano Ocean collection are dishwasher- and microwave-safe, and because the collection is painted by hand, each piece is unique in its own right.
Algo Blue
Algo: Tableware Inspired by the Art of Basketry
ALGO is the new collection from the Villeroy & Boch Food Service Division that has been inspired by the art of basketry. Traditionally hand-woven from grasses and colorful ribbons, these accessories have a simple, clear design for everyday use. The wide variety of patterns were embraced, given a minimalist twist then transferred to porcelain in soft colors for the Algo collection. The result is a finely detailed design, with small lines in clear, geometric patterns that come together to create a harmonious overall picture–producing a dynamic effect on the surface of the round plates and bowls.
Algo is available in two subtle color options on a white background: Blue, a fine light blue, and Maroon, a soft beige/brown. Thanks to its ethnic look, Algo is perfect for casual dining atmospheres. It allows chefs to showcase their food on an understates yet expressive stage. All pieces in the Algo collection are dishwasher- and microwave-safe.
