At TabletopJournal, we continue to be amazed at what a benevolent industry we work in. From chefs to suppliers, there seems to be no end to the contributions of time, money, products, and much, much more to unending list of charities. One company that continues to lead the way with its philanthropy is Tuxton China, although the company doesn’t often talk about wide reach of all the company’s efforts.

Tuxton China has been long known for its support of The Culinary Institute of America, C-CAP, Brownsville Community Culinary Center and other charitable organizations. But there are other, smaller examples of the generosity of the team at Tuxton.  For example, recently, Tuxton lent its support through a donation of product to the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center in St. Paul, Minnesota where Brenton Kerr and his Cambridge Club work to help students further develop their personal manners and social skills in professional business-social settings.

Cambridge Club founder Brenton Kerr had this to say about the donation of product from Tuxton, “It was very generous of them and it means everything to us and our program. Now, instead of using whatever we could find laying around our culinary program offices, we have our own dinnerware and tea service. We’re very proud and excited and want to thank Tuxton for their genrosity.” The Cambridge Club program meets several times each week and currently has 10 members and is growing quickly.

“At Tuxton, we definitely feel that ‘giving back’ is a central part of our Core Values,” stated Tuxton’s Vice President of Business Development Jennifer Rolander. “It’s often our support of organizations like The Culinary Institute of America or C-CAP that gets noticed, but we feel just a strongly about supporting great local, grassroot causes like the Cambridge Club of The Humphrey Job Corps Center in St. Paul, too.”

Earlier this Spring, TabletopJournal interview Tuxton President Bill Burden and one of his comments echoed that sentiment on the importance of “giving back” to the Tuxton company and brand. “Part of our corporate vision is to be involved in our industry and not just sell products,” said Burden. Burden went on to say how much Tuxton China likes to support students of all types, especially when the situation is close to and relevant to the hospitality industry.

So, in an industry that remains full of so many who give so much, Tuxton China continues to stand out.

Nicely done, Tuxton!
