Tognana is a porcelain dinnerware brand known to many but still very under-appreciated in many markets, especially North America. We think that this could very well change in 2012. The Italian-made Tognana has a number very cool products for the hospitality market, including one that we happen to have fallen for – GRAFFITTI – shown below. (the bowls are incredible!)

With terrific hospitality products like this, we think Tognana is about to make its voice heard at a much higher level. We’ll be talking more about Tognana in the months to come, especially with its new North American distribution partner – Mircenza.
The Tognana family first established a brickworks company over two centuries ago, in 1775. In 1946 a new factory was opened specialising in ceramics, starting with majolica and soon after moving on to porcelain, where there traditional procedures of firing, spinning and glazing were employed. The Andrea Fontebasso 1760 brand also belongs to Tognana Porcellane S.p.A.  It is owing to the Andrea Fontebasso 1760 brand that the historical tradition of ceramics produced in Treviso have acquired the international prestige that distinguishes the best Italian manufacture.

The production of ceramics in Treviso at the beginning of the XVIII century is infused with artistic vocation and the Fontebasso name soon becomes the pride of the town. It is thanks to Andrea Fontebasso, Giovanni’s son, that the conversion of the family business from the production to ceramics to that of fine porcelain takes place. The brand in the meantime has reached great success, both on the marketplace and in terms of awards in domestic and international exhibitions.

Tognana Porcellane S.p.A., located in Casier (Treviso), is currently the major Italian manufacturer of tableware porcelain for the hospitality market, with 25 million pieces sold every year worldwide. Tognana has invested considerable resources not only in the key production areas but in infrastructures and logistics as well, so as to improve product quality and service to its clientele.

Tognana’s GRAFFITTI bowls come in 5 sizes from 10.75″ all the way down to 4″ in diameter…..more than enough to accomdate even the most creative chef! See the entire collection of Tognana for America by going here:   http://mircenza.com/tognanausa.html
