One of the most interesting exhibitors (and we saw plenty!) we saw at the just completed Host Milano show was Tina Frey Designs. Handmade by a small team in its San Francisco, California workshop, Tina Frey Designs has been creating sleek modern designs for the home and tabletop over the last 10 years.

The company is excited to have recently started projects branching out into the hospitality industry, focusing on collections for restaurant and hotel. Each piece is inspired by encounters with objects and scenery such as the flowing ocean or smooth, rounded surface of candy.

The current projects for hospitality include a room and bathroom accessory line for hotels, and a dinnerware line for restaurants. Before the new hospitality line, Tina Frey Designs has worked with interior designers, architects, chefs and restaurants to create custom designs and colors for many projects.

The new Modern Collection brightens the tabletop with its smooth edges and modern design. Each piece is handmade of food safe resin, the process creates a unique beauty that adds an organic appeal to the tabletop. The collection is dishwasher safe and durable enough for outdoor use.

Tina draws inspiration from many sources.  The fluid lines of her silhouettes are reminiscent of the blue sea, while the organic contours of each piece emulate the curves of nature.  Creativity blooms from treasures found during travel, and mouthwatering colors spring from translucent popsicles and scrumptious jelly beans. The pieces in the collection are hand sculpted by Tina Frey in San Francisco, California.  Sculpting starts with an idea which focuses on simplicity and function.

The idea serves as the  backbone when Tina sculpts each piece in clay. Hand made molds are created from each design and are used to cast the vessels in small batches by color.  Each piece is hand sanded and carries a unique beauty that ensures the quality and integrity of each piece.
