So…just when you think it’s impossible to re-imagine a particular tabletop category int terms of design, along comes a fresh, young designer to prove you wrong.
Chinese-born Qiyun Deng has designed her GRAFT flatware pieces with the look – and more importantly – the feel of real fruits and vegetables. So, for those of you looking for something different….even in disposable cutlery (but, really….would you want to throw these away?), Qiyun Deng has these for you in Bioplastic PLA. Bioplastics are compostable plastics derived from renewable biomass sources, such as vegetable fats and oils, corn starch, and pea starch. Compostable plastics are a new generation of plastics which are both biodegradable and compostable.
So, for those of you producing disposable tabletop products ….might just be time to put your design caps back on.
