There’s something very interesting about to happen for the next two days near the shores of Lake Erie in Huron, Ohio. The Roots Conference is to be a small gathering of chefs, culinary leaders, and innovative thinkers who will come together at The Chef’s Garden here to exchange ideas on food and its role today. In a relaxed, no-pressure environment, designed not only to facilitate conversation and spark solutions, but also to inspire attendees to return to their lives armed with a new set of tools to impact change its hoped that ROOTS can be a special beginning to a new culinary conversation in America.
Great journeys are begun with single steps. Perhaps this small gathering of culinary thought leaders are those first steps in harnessing the power, purpose, and the meaning of food.
