Oyster River Joinery makes serving boards from cherry, mahogany, walnut, along with red and yellow birch. Oysters seem to be showing up on restaurant menus at all levels. And, who knew there were so many different types of oysters? And, now Oyster River Joinery has developed beautiful wood serving platters to bring your mollusks to the table in style.

We recently learned of this Maine woodworking firm that also makes platters for both fish and shrimp, and, even  has a special “Board Balm” for keeping your serving boards in top condition.

Carved from woods like cherry, mahogany, red birch, walnut, and yellow birch…Oyster River Joinery boards are both durable and beautiful. Woodworker Paul Sampson told the local newspaper – Maine’s Bangor Daily News – that he loves serving – and eating – oysters and it shows.
