Designer Martin Hunt by Maham Anjum In addition to improved stackability, the flat plates of Oneida’s new PERIMETER also have a special decal treatment instead of the foot that greatly reduces metal transfer and marking on the plates.

To develop the new PERIMETER shape, Oneida teamed with renowned London-based design firm of Queensberry Hunt. Since 1966, Queensberry Hunt has been known as the “shape guys” who have a knack for creating products that are both incredibly practical and a great fit for the food and dining styles that people are enjoying at that moment. For the new PERIMETER dinnerware design, Queensberry Hunt’s Martin Hunt stated, “We have been planning Perimeter for some time, wanting to update the ‘clean‘modernist’ section of the Oneida portfolio. The broad coupe dishes give a maximum frame to practically any menu and we have precisely delineated the food with clear, neat rims. The plates in fine porcelain, are light and stack very closely. To the undersides of the plates we have applied a special permanent anti-abrasion coating to protect them and other plates against scratching and metal marking.

To improve the dining experience for today’s restaurant guest, Hunt added, “As designers, we are usually appalled at the way the first course of any menu is served! Taster-Menus, Tapas, Mezze, Vorspeisen, Antipasti and all these lovely things are so often presented on the most anonymous small plates. This great, great area of the menu demands better attention??  With Perimeter, we are dealing with this and have made a whole collection of new dishes, some with handles, to make the service look delicious and then the smallbites themselves – Just Fabulous!!

Oneida’s new PERIMETER has a full range of traditional round plates and bowls, but also has a tapas and sharing plate assortment included, as well.  Rectangular sushi plates, tasting plates, ovals for soup/sandwich and pick two makes this line highly versatile.
