Sirio Ristorante New York at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, is Adam D. Tihany’s eighth collaboration with the illustrious Maccioni Restaurant Group.  A nod to the high style aesthetic of 1960’s Italy, the restaurant recalls the classic Italian ristorante and casual elegance of Federico Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita.”  While its predecessor in Las Vegas borrows from modern and old world traditions on a grand scale, the Sirio Ristorante New York was designed on a more intimate scale befitting its sophisticated urban setting.
The subdued interior exudes a palpable sense of history and warmth.  The light palette and streamlined design of the walls evoke the limestone facades characteristic of Italian architecture. Refined, wood arches frame the walls giving the space an architectural structure.  They also pay tribute to the classical arcades featured in the bespoke black-and-white photos of Italian streetscapes hanging below.

Captured by artist Bram Tihany, this evocative photo installation transports the spacious plazas, expansive corridors and vast skies of the Old World landscape to this relaxed, contemporary interior. Carpeting inspired by classic marble floor design also also enhances the interior’s distinct sense of warmth and familiarity.

Photographer Bram Tihany utilizes black & white photography as his primary medium to help bring an Old World ambience and intimacy to new Sirio Ristorante New York. Guests entering the space will encounter an elegant, finely-curated bar at the front of the restaurant complete with a vibrant sea food display.  Opposite the bar, a Maccioni family photo gallery depicts Sirio, the eminent namesake, amongst the sophisticated and colorful company he has kept throughout his enviable career.
