story and purpose unlike any other, Mission BBQ has one of the greatest “Mission” statements of all, ‘Proudly Serving Those Who Serve”.

Mission BBQ is so much more than just a restaurant, they are constantly looking for ways to help veterans all over the country. Recently, after grabbing a bite for lunch we saw some action happening at a Mission BBQ in Canton, MD. A new wooden Maryland flag sign was being hung outside the restaurant. After a bit of small talk, we came to find out that this sign was built from another veteran-owned and operated company, so naturally we had to find out more…

Triple H. Carpentry was started by Roy Fish, a U.S. Marine veteran who complete two tours in Afghanistan. Like most war vets, Fish suffered from PTSD and was having a difficult time transitioning back to a normal everyday life. With help of the ‘Reboot”, a combat recovery program and a faith-based recovery process offered through the Marine Corps, Roy saw the healing process from different perspective which lead to the start of Triple H.
According to Roy,this was his beginning stage of woodworking “As another piece of my own healing, I had always in my life dabbled with woodworking and building things. I found peace in the garage, I found peace when the saws were running”

It was then he realized that if this time spent working with wood was helping him, it was sure to help other vets in the same situation. Fish continues, “Because I began to understand that healing in my own life, I began to understand that this is something that could really impact other guys”.

It’s one thing to have an outlet that lets you escape from the terrifying thoughts that PTSD brings, but it must truly be a comforting feeling for Roy and his employees to know that they are on the same page and making a journey of recovery together.
The Maryland flag sign at the Canton, MD location was not the first Mission BBQ sign that Triple H. has done for the growing restaurant chain. There first wooden flag was put up in Jacksonville, NC. Says Fish, “When I had an opportunity to build a flag and give a flag to Mission BBQ it was awesome. It was a great great honor.”

Mission BBQ is a dining establishment unlike any other… allowing veterans like Roy Fish to tell their story and help other veterans thru their walls.
