Libbey Inc. Partners with the KDA to Create ‘The Official Tasting Glass of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail’

Libbey Inc., an industry leader in glassware, has recently partnered with the Kentucky Distillers’ Association to create “The Official Tasting Glass of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.” The perfect bourbon tasting glass is the result of KDA members working closely with Libbey Inc., taking a year to develop a design that captures each nuance of flavor and aroma of the spirit. Along with a subtle KDA logo etching at the base of the glass, it is said to have all the best features for bourbon tasting: a heavy sham, curved bowl, and fine rim paired with an ideally sized opening.

“Kentucky Bourbon is a complex, elegant spirit that can be enjoyed so many different ways,” said Adam Johnson, senior director of the KDA’s Kentucky Bourbon Trail Experiences. “We recognized the need for a specific glass to enhance the aroma, flavors and nuances of Bourbon, and we’re proud to partner with Libbey, America’s Glassmaker™, to create the ideal version.”

It only makes sense that such a glass would come into creation, as the KDA has seen an increase of 300% in Kentucky Bourbon Trail attendance in the past 10 years alone. The glass is said to deliver a “multi-sensory, smooth bourbon tasting experience.”
