That is what Germany’s Kahla Porcelain and designer Barbara Schmidt have done….designed a beautiful cup that allows you to truly savour the efforts of all the growers, roasters, and baristas that have contributed to your coffee.
When developing Kahla’s CAFE’ SOMMELIER designs, designer Schmidt had only one thing in mind: to artfully design details such as size, wall thickness, rim design, inner shape, handles, and fit on the saucer in a way that would best accentuate the aromas and flavors of your coffee. 
With Kahla’s CAFE’ SOMMELIER collection, that is the detail that has been designed into every cup and saucer size…..each cup having its very own character, depending upon the beverage.
As Kahla’s Barbara Schmidt says, “What I love most about coffee is its aroma. I would love to be able to capture it. That was my personal idea behind the CAFE’ SOMMELIER collection.”
It’s also the reason that Schmidt designed lids for each of the various sized cups. With the aroma being the best part – why let it escape before the first sip?
