Jim Joseph, president and CEO of Oneida Ltd., announced Thursday that he will relinquish these roles as of February 1, 2012. He will take the role of executive in residence at Lemoyne College in Syracuse, NY, where he will lecture and mentor future business leaders, Joseph stated.

He will continue to serve on Oneida’s newly created board of directors and will also be involved in “a number of strategic projects,” he said.

In a parting statement to the company, Joseph said, “Oneida is 131 years of a rich and proud history. Oneida is one of the most recognized brands in U.S. business history. We are the number one tabletop brand in North America.”

“Throughout our history, we have changed and adapted to meet the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities of the ever-evolving, highly competitive consumer and food service arenas. We have embraced globalization and ventured into new market frontiers,” he added. “Like any institution that has been around for more than a century, we have also had our share of disappointments, but we have picked ourselves up, brushed ourselves off, and regained our leadership position in the markets we serve.”

He added that the recent acquisition of Oneida by Monomoy will result in a “significant re-deployment of resources” to help company growth including a “shift from overhead operations and investment in market research brand development, sales personnel and pioneering new markets.”
