Recently, TabletopJournal was directed to Haven Pizzeria in Bethesda, Maryland to see their unique blend of tabletop. Haven has a unique tabletop , connecting the restaurant to its roots, and proves that “thoughtful” tabletop can be practicalit needn’t be expensive….AND, it can be used reinforce a restaurant’s brand message.

Individual tomato pies, salads, and, in fact, nearly EVERYTHING comes to the table in metal trays…..straight out of a New Haven family pizzeria. Haven Pizzeria is born out of the what some call the birthplace of American pizza – New Haven, Connecticut, where Frank Pepe started the trend early last century. Haven Pizzeria in Bethesda has brought the best of New Haven to Maryland, including a simple, practical….and efficient tabletop of metal trays from American Metalcraft….simple, yet heavy “enough” flatware from Walco….and appetizers coming out on a small wooden pizza board. The one concession to indulgence being the fine Luigi Bormioli wine glasses – “Hey, we’re in the wine business,” says owner and operator Mark Bergami.

Sometimes, simpler is better and Haven Pizzeria keeps it’s tabletop simple.  But, it is a tabletop that reinforces the brand that Haven Pizzeria is building. Straightforward, honest food……just like New Haven….with terrific wines. What’s not to love about that?

By the way, that much of that straightforward and honest food comes out of the Haven’s incredible ovens! You can check them out in this video … or, better yet…get over there and try the tomato pies that come from them. We have no doubt you will be impressed.

Talk about differentiating….Haven Pizzeria does it on the table ….and, with the food from their ovens. To learn more about Haven Pizzeria, go here: http://havenpizzeria.com/
