If it truly takes 1/10 of a second to create an impression, glassware maker Durobor can best be described as “Wow!” To be fair, that can go either way very easily, riddled with confusion or based in excitement, but the reaction plays secondary to what’s causing it: The shapes.

When you’re a glassware maker, its almost mandatory to have something for beer. Normally, you see your usual 16 oz mixing glasses, a pilsner, some variation of a pint glass, and if you’re lucky, something with a stem. Durobor, however, approaches things a little differently.

Based in Belgium, the glassware company has seven lines of glassware for beer enthusiasts including lines for Belgian Pilsners, Lagers, Ales, Wheats, Pints, Specialties, and, of course, 3 shapes for Tasters.

Tallying up approximately 50 beerglass sapes, it’s clear that Durobor sees the shape of glass as an essential component when it comes to taking in the scent and flavor of each distinct beer. Cocktails get a similar treatment with just over 40 shapes.
