Belgian newspaper L’Echo published a follow-up story yesterday on the unfortunate situation for Belgian glassware producer Durobor. Two possibilities for potential buyers have emerged – one known and one unknown at this time.

According to the L’Echo story, the known possibility is from Frederick Willems, a local Belgian glassware decorator. Willems would only be interested in the decorating capabilities of Durobor, not the actual production of glassware. In addition, Willems has interest in the decoration of polymer/plastic drinkware within the Durobor facility, as well.

As stated, there is an additional interested party which remains unknown.

Meanwhile, the glass tanks at Durobor remain on but because of the costs of the small number of employees need to maintain them temporarily and the gas to run them, this cannot continue indefinitely, according to the story.

So, the future of Durobor remains very much in doubt.
