The end of the year is here. With that comes some reflection on the hospitality tableware companies that worked to change and improve themselves through the year. As we begin reviewing, we can’t help but turn to Dudson and the busy, transitioning year they’ve had.

At the top of the year the British tableware company announced long time chairman Ian Dudson would be retiring from his position and be replaced by ex-Dyson CEO Martin McCourt. McCourt, a 40-year manufacturing vet, was brought on with the  vision to help the company grow, working along side the Dudson family members.

Shortly after the announcement of McCourt’s arrival, Dudson put out a comprehensive brochure under the name 18 highlighting all the ways they were implementing changes to better serve the customer’s needs. Things like investing in new factory equipment, better product warranties, and more new product designs that match modern dining trends topped the list. Dudson also delivered a brand new product guide filled with images and product information showcasing the flexibility of Dudson products and how they fit in multiple industry into sectors.

On the product side of things, Dudson delivered their new CONCRETE design in response to customer demand for a tableware product that would easily fit into a more industrial style of interior décor. CONCRETE, of course, falls on trend with its soft grey, polished marble aesthetic complementing palettes of neutral and earthy tones.

Dudson also saw additions to it’s fan favorite collections EVO and HARVEST, as well as a new BAGUETTE VINTAGE STONEWASH flatware line.

As 2017 closes out, we look towards 2018 and eagerly anticipate what new products and innovations tabletop leaders like Dudson will bring to the table. If this past year is indicator of who to expect at the forefront, we’ll be looking forward to the company’s next output.
