Speaker Bio: Martin Hunt
1966, leaving graduate college in London Martin Hunt joined his professor, David Queensberry who was an established designer at that time.  Together they formed the Queensberry Hunt design partnership. Martin’s developing expertise was in the craft side of design – very much as a ‘maker’ and enthusiast for ‘Modernism’ – that is, clean shapes that function!

The company developed a continuing relationship with manufacturing companies like Rosenthal, mainly for retail and since the 90’s also worked closely with retailers such as Crate and Barrel.
Food-service clients emerged, Dudson in the UK and then Oneida where we are responsible for ranges such as Botticelli and Nexus.  Queensbury Hunt’s present preoccupation, having a broad familiarity with the technology of ceramics (not only the famous materials like porcelain) is helping to introduce, into manufacturing, new materials and ‘new looks’. The ambition is that in food-service, the wonderful materials used by the studio potter should also be available in quantity production.
