With her winning designed titled “Tea for 2”, designer Tina Delia stated, “As a designer, we’re always about curating spaces and a table is one of the most important spaces, that’s why I tried to create something elegant and timeless.” Delia continued, “The Tabletop Challenge event is beyond fun. I love doing the event because as a designer it challenges you and you have to put yourself out there! In addition, there’s huge energy in the convention hall. It’s really a great event!”

Delia’s winning tabletop utilized the following products:

Flatware………………………..Cooper, Puccini – Oneida

Coupe Round Bowl…………Studio Pottery – Oneida

Under Plates…………………..Chef Paul Liebrandt Collection from Rene Ozorio/Steelite

Tea Tray, Cup & Saucer, Creamer, Sugar…………………..Tea Forte

Rectangular Center Piece Tray………………Studio Pottery – Oneida

Nosing Glass………In Alto – Bormioli Rocco/Steelite

Glencairn Whisky Glasses……………..Stolzle/Oneida

Working with world class hospitality tabletop products from companies like Steelite International, Oneida, Sassafras Paper Table Linens, and Tea Forte, the Tabletop Challenge consists of teams of designers, using tabletop items provided by sponsoring companies, as well as additional “mystery” props, having 20 minutes to build their perfect tabletop. Then, there was a “People’s Choice” vote taken for each competition winner during the remainder of the show with all show attendees voting, with the winner being announced after the Show and being recognized on the HX: The hotel Experience and TabletopJournal websites.

The Tabletop Challenge event was co-presented by the HX: The Hotel Show and TabletopJournal.com and was hosted by TabletopJournal’s Dave Turner.  According to Turner, “Each year’s Tabletop Challenge Design Competition is unique and this year’s edition was no exception! This year’s voting was extremely close with the newcomers pushing the previous winning teams right to the limit!”
