Churchill China: Adding To Its STUDIO PRINTS Collection With New RAKU

Global ceramics manufacturer Churchill China is adding on a new range to its STUDIO PRINTS Collection with RAKU. RAKU joins the already smash hit HOMESPUN range in STUDIO PRINTS.

STUDIO PRINTS as a whole is a take on traditional studio pottery, celebrating the lush, creative history of ceramics, while maintaining contemporary sophistication.

Inspired by the traditional glazing process from which it gets its name, RAKU is a stunning nod to artisan glazed finishes. Of course, while it bears the name RAKU, it still maintains the durability and technical integrity operators expect in a hospitality environment. RAKU also dons a reactive glaze, giving it a classic orange peel texture that’s certainly pleasant to the touch.

For those not indoctrinated to Churchill’s technical specs, both STUDIO PRINTS collections come with a super vitrified body. This means little to no moisture absorption, leading to more hygienic dinnerware with better heat retention properties. The vitreous body on STUDIO PRINTS also ensures a higher resistance to thermal shock and the negative effects associated with it.

Both RAKU and HOMESPUN are underglazed print designs, meaning the prints are positioned right underneath the glaze. This process creates a protective layer that ultimately adds to the durability of the prints.

As for RAKU’s range, it comes ready with ten pieces all in a beautiful Topaz Blue color. They also offer four complementary RAKU items such as snack bowls and dip pots, all in a Sapphire Blue color.
