A new trend may be emerging in the cocktail world and might just be catching fire soon (excuse the pun).

Have you ever heard of a “grilled cocktail ”? If you haven’t, bartender Eric Tecosky explains just what it is in a Men’s Journal article by Christopher Osburn . Putting a cocktail on the grill may seem ludicrous, and even wrong to someone who prefers a cold beer on a hot day by the grill. But after Tecosky explains just what the benefits are, you may never want to go back.

For those looking to impress and dazzle house guests visiting, a grilled cocktail will certainly do the trick.Tecosky says that coring different fruits and vegetables and filling them with an array of liquors gives the drink a smokey and flavorful base for a variety of cocktails. “Once you get started, the only limits are imagination and time to experiment — coconuts, bell peppers, mangos and more,” Tecosky explains.

The first step for a beginning cocktail griller is to use a whole pineapple and core it. Slice up some of the pineapple rings and place them on the grill. Char the inside of the fruit with Jack Daniel, add a slice back into the hollow fruit. Then add 2 oz. of Jack Daniels. 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitter, and a sugar cube. Grill for 5-7 minutes, strain into a mixing glass, add ice and stir. And finally, strain into a new glass with fresh ice and garnish with a grilled pineapple wedge.

After you’re done salivating over this delicious beverage, think about this; How could this be used for my business? While this invention is great for summer BBQ’s, this new trend could easily be the next best invention for your bartenders. Bringing this to the menu and providing the proper experience with it could lead to a new summer trend for your business.

Think about the different glassware that these cocktails could be served in. Collins glasses, highball glasses, even serving the drink in the pineapple itself to create an unforgettable tropical experience that ultimately lends to an unforgettable tabletop and dining experience. Though we must say, we really liked lushwinemix.com’s choice of a tumbler.
