From the Toledo newspaper, The Blade, comes news that the brief strike underway at tabletop leader Libbey Inc. is over.

According to The Blade, Dave Nelson, president of Glass Molders Plastics Local 59, said his membership overwhelmingly approved a new three-year deal on Wednesday afternoon.

The union, which has about 100 members, had been on strike since Oct. 12. It was the last of the four local unions that represent Libbey’s Toledo-area employees to be without a contract.

The Toledo table glassware company continued to operate its North Toledo factory and its area distribution centers using replacement workers. But 750 union workers either were on strike or honored the picket lines for the past two weeks.
