Last week, the World Travel Award winners were announced in Doha, Qatar. Industry awards are always interesting to see as they often represent how particular industry – in this case, travel – views itself and its current standing. A large portion of the winners come from Asia, Middle East, with a sprinkling in of European winners for good measure. Nominations come from within the industry with voting done by insiders, with a large portion bieng travel agents according to World Travel Awards organziation based in London.
