While they are renowned for the great food and coffee, the owners of Melbourne's Dead Man Espresso and just-opened Common Galaxia differentiated their guest experience further by having local potter Ingrid Tufts create special cups and saucers for them.

Studio William Divided Tasting Spoon
Maybe one of the best examples of thoughtful tabletop is the Studio William Divided Tasting Spoon. Crucial Detail's Palm Bowl
In 1998, Martin Kastner established Crucial Detail with the idea of exploring and blurring the boundary between design and art. The foundation of this idea is a belief that while function is the primary element of any design project, its conceptual and aesthetic aspects demand equal attention to transcend the ordinary.
If there was a cooler product that came across our radar screen in 2011 than Crucial Detail's Palm Bowl, we can't think of it. Steelite is the exclusive source for Crucial Detail products to the hospitality trade, but we're not quite sure if they are offering this incredible item since we don't see it on their catalog pages.
So....you just may have to demand it from them!

More and more companies are moving towards a total tabletop offering.....and these two companies do it as well as anybody.
It's hard to imagine that if a tabletop decision-maker had these two catalogs - Oneida and Steelite - that they would have to look much further for creativity, great pricing, and customer service.
