For those who may not know the name Shep Hyken, he is an incredible evangelist for perfecting the art of a great #customerexperience. For those of us in the hospitality tabletop segment, I’m sure we think that our companies and restaurants all provide great customer service and guest experiences.

However, do we really?

Let’s assume that some of you would like to (ahem!) “improve” your current levels of customer service…. how should you do it. And, if we are simply looking to “reinforce” that customer-centric approach, how can we do that?

In a recent article on his website, Shep Hyken offers these 5 tips on creating a customer-focused mindset:

  1. The desire to serve and take care of people
  2. Being in the moment  and conscious of the impact they are having on the customer experience
  3. Know where the line in the sand is and how far they can go to serve the customer
  4. Always learning and being interested in continuous learning
  5. Recognizing the Awesome Responsibility that each employee has to impact the CX

If you’re looking to create a more customer-focused organization, we’d suggest you check out Shep Hyken and his approach to improving CX.
