Churchill China Honors Traditional Glazing Techniques With RAKU Additions

STUDIO PRINTS, the contemporary take on revived traditional designs from the Churchill China archives is seeing some more color and product additions to its RAKU line.

Alongside the already popular Homespun line, RAKU dons an under-glazed print, meaning prints are positioned beneath the glaze, creating a protective layer that adds to the print durability.

RAKU celebrates the traditional glazing heritage with a range of fourteen new organic shapes with a stunning textured gradient aesthetic new to the collection. The new colors and shapes come in both Topaz Blue and Quartz Black. Both colors fit in well with preexisting Churchill lines, but also command enough attention to serve as their own individual statement.

Of the new additions three Chefs’ Oblong Plates are now available in both colors as well. These work great for starters, sides, or desserts, but have the flexibility to accommodate your menu options.

However if you’re not looking for new pieces and prefer a different color in the vein of the original RAKU set, Churchill now offers a Garnett Orange color way as well.

The STUDIO PRINTS collection comes with a super vitrified body, meaning little to no moisture absorption and more hygienic dinnerware with better heat retention properties. The vitreous body on STUDIO PRINTS also ensures a higher resistance to thermal shock and the negative effects associated with it.
