We wrote recently that despite the enormous size and potential of China as a market, there are few - practically only a handful of Chinese brands with true global awareness as Chinese brands. We cited Lenovo ($21 Billion, second largest seller of PCs worldwide) - a Chinese brand - that's primarily known as to people who bought the ThinkPad.

Well, according to Hotel ChatterIHG hotels is announcing they are going to be developing a new upscale hotel brand for the Chinese market within six months. Reports have IHG then expanding the new brand across the Asia Pacific region.

Here comes Chinese branding.
