There’s no limit to what foodservice professionals can expect from the new Seltmann NO LIMITS line of white porcelain tableware from Frieling USA.  Made in Germany to the highest quality standards, the full range features 49 different round and square pieces that are modular and compatible, so each item can be used individually or combined with others in the line.

Matching platters can double as lid covers that protect food and make the pieces stackable. Saucers can cover cups, and platters and plates of various sizes and shapes can cover any piece in the line.  With the look of contemporary simplicity that serves as a backdrop to today’s cuisine, the bowls and cups are slightly angled upward, so plates fit perfectly under or over them.

NO LIMITS is oven, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher safe. This sturdy tableware can be used indoors or outdoors, and can even withstand the high heat of salamander broiler ovens, eliminating the need to transfer food to a different plate for finishing gratin potatoes, macaroni and cheese and more. Seltmann’s porcelain has excellent heat storing capability, slowly releasing heat after preheating to keep food warm.  The centers of the plates are thicker than the rims to store even more heat.

Stronger, lighter and more translucent,  Seltmann's NO LIMITS porcelain is composed of an ideal formula of 50% Caolin, 25% Quartz and 25% Feldspar.  It is completely lead free and cadmium free, meeting strict California regulations. It is twice fired with eco-friendly natural gas for extreme hardness and durability.

The extremely hard glaze of the fully vitrified NO LIMITS line – which ranks above metal, bone china and fine china on the Mohs scale of hardness – prevents scratching by knives or flatware.  It resists breaking and chipping because of its rolled edges and material hardness.  Unglazed feet are diamond polished three times to prevent scratching of wood or glass tables or other china, and leveling prevents liquids from running on the plate.

The Seltmann NO LIMITS line from Frieling includes a variety of bowls, platters, plates, cups, saucers and serving items, including a 40 ounce coffee pot, sugar bowl, creamer, pitcher, gravy boat and salt and pepper set. List prices range from $10 to $70.

Seltmann has been family owned for more than 100 years, with an ongoing commitment to investing in state-of-the-art technologies.  Frieling USA is the exclusive distributor for Seltmann products in the United States and Canada.

Another tabletop marriage for the American market – this time it is Frieling, the Charlotte, NC based supplier of food preparation tools, serveware, and bakeware, joining forces with Germany’s Seltmann Weiden porcelain who has previously been distributing to their customers through their Chicago-area warehouse.

To continue the growth of the Seltmann Weiden business in North America, management at Seltmann is making a move that will allow the brand to take their business to the next level while offering more support and service for their customers.  As of September 1, 2012, Frieling USA Inc. will be the exclusive Seltmann Weiden distributor in the United States and Canada.  Operating with Frieling, the Seltmann brand will be able to enjoy greater economies of scale and to leverage Frieling’s market knowledge, expertise and systems.  Johannes Kraus, the long-term contact at Seltmann USA will be joining the Frieling team.
“Johannes and I are very excited to join forces, “ comments Udo Robitsch, Frieling’s National Sales Manager for the hospitality industry. “We have collaborated for some time on an informal basis and now, this is more specific. I like to sell products by explaining them and the Seltmann story is a great story to tell. Having visited the Seltmann factories in Germany, they are very impressive.”

Both Seltmann and Frieling products should benefit, but it is anticipated that it is Frieling/Seltmann customers will benefit most from joining these two high quality brands. With a smooth transition of the Seltmann products already underway to Frieling’s Charlotte, NC distribution facility, hospitality customers should benefit by improved service, more focused selling efforts, and improved overall logistics.

Seltmann Porcelain - quality in design, quality in production.
Seltmann's Paso Bossa Nova design is an example of how the company takes relatively simple designs and comes up with totally creative pieces for chefs and hoteliers to elevate their guest's dining experience.
Seltmann Porcelain remains one of the great dinnerware companies that is under-appreciate in certain parts of the world, including America. Seltmann has been making great porcelain dinnerware for hotels and restaurants for over 100 years and has some incredibly interesting shapes and designs.
MANDARIN Event by Seltmann.
Seltmann's MANDARIN Event collection offers creative chefs to use their imagination with the dinnerware, as well as the menu.
While many companies try to cut their costs by outsourcing their production, Seltmann manintains it's high standards for quality and production by producing their porcelain in their company facilities in Germany. It's this precision that allows them to keep the exacting standards necessary to make technically challenging ranges like cp-08 below.
cp-08 - strange name, cool pieces. Seltmann.
Seltmann's cp-08 system of porcelain serving pieces can only be produced if you have the exacting quality standards that Seltmann has. This level of quality makes cp-08 perfect for caterers, airlines, and any operator who needs to save space and maintain precision in the sizes of the serving pieces.
For operators who look for quality dinnerware and to differentiate themselves in a world of sameness, Seltmann is a tremendous resource. You can see the entire line of Seltmann porcelain by going here:

We've mentioned how cool we think the new CP-08 collection from Seltmann is but when we saw a piece that had been decorated with simple gold lines....it really jumped! This precision manufacured line is great for those who are looking at very specific and very exacting space requirements. Made in Germany to Seltmann's high quality standards, this range would be great for airlines, room service, or even healthcare.

Personally, I think they just look plain ol' cool and would make great serving pieces for appetizers of desserts.
Seltmann's CP-08...almost like a jigsaw puzzle for serving food!
And, remember, this collection is so special it has its own website:  http://www.cp08.de/   but, you can also link to it from the Seltmann site:   http://www.seltmann-usa.com/

Seltmann Porcelain's cp-08 serving pieces with a dime resting on the to show just how space saving this system truly is.
Last week, I wrote about Seltmann Porcelain's new cp-08 system of space saving porcelain. Some of you had questions and one of them was about the thickness (height) of the pieces. Well, I think this picture tells the best story.

Seltmann's cp-08 is truly a space saver. With a variety of serving pieces, cp-08 can work with any type of menu of food item.  And, while it's a precision engineered and all that....I think it's simply pretty cool.

I'm guessing you will too. Remember, cp-08 has its own website:   www.cp08.de

In researching Seltmann Porcelain to write the posting on their VERY cool cp-08 system of stackable (and space saving) serving pieces, I came across this page on their website which I thought was great.

http://www.seltmann-usa.com/benefits/

It's a simple....easy to understand....easy to navigate....way to communicate the various specific benefits of Seltmann Porcelain. Click on any of the images and you get a brief explanation of that particular benefit.

Nicely Done.

The stunning new cp-08 dining "system" from Seltmann China....German quality at its finest.
There’s a new Seltmann China evolving and this new generation couldn’t be more different than the staid, classic Seltmann China that many know. With its Tettau line and others, Seltmann is the oldest porcelain factory in Bavaria

But now Seltmann has launched its new cp-08 shape….a geometric-shaped line so new and different that it has its own website - http://www.cp08.de/ – which can be accessed through the Seltmann website, as well. Designed by an outside design firm with the Berlin Congress Center as its first customer, cp-08 is a 22 piece “system” of porcelain serving pieces unlike any other. And, while Seltmann has introduced new contemporary shapes in recent years...non seem as dramatic as the new cp-08 system.

Cp-08 was designed with goals such as:
- dimensional optimization for space saving;
- inherent practical design features to enable in-service durability;
- and an overall asthetic to allow both large catering and in home use for consumers;
Picture
Only a company like Seltmann could produce such a high quality, design-driven product. The reason being is that the manufacturing tolerances have to be extremely consistent to enable the stacking and space optimization that is such a part of cp-08. Unlike many other porcelain companies that outsource some or all of their production, Seltmann still remains true and produces all of its products in Germany. That makes the quality control for a line like cp-08 very achievable and it also allows customers to mix and match with other Seltmann products as the body clay colors are also the same.
“It was really well received at the NRA Show,” says Seltmann USA President Johannes Kraus. “We have all types of customers from restaurateurs to caterers to airlines interested in cp-08. They are finding it amazing how much space can be saved – and the design of cp-08 is timeless. It’s truly a full concept and not just a new product or two. There are also racks for available for cp-08, as well.”
With cp-08 stocked in Seltmann’s suburban Chicago warehouse, Johannes Kraus and his sales organization have begun the enviable task of presenting cp-08 to customers first-hand and showing all its capabilities. While Seltmann still has all the traditional porcelain dinnerware shapes that it is known for…..the cp-08 “system” of dinnerware is bringing a whole new generation of Seltmann to the U.S. foodservice tabletop.
