Emile Henry's modern version of the Japanese cup is versatile and can be used for hot tea, miso soup, prep bowl, individual chocolate soufflés, appetizer dips, and so much more.

Inspired by the shape of Asian rice bowls, Emile Henry softened the edges, added beautiful glazes and finished if off with the potter's stamp on the bottom, The Japanese Cup makes a sensational statement in the bold Mediterranean colors.

The Japanese Cup is 4 inches in diameter and holds 7 oz. The cup is modern, elegant, casual and refined and works as a bowl or cup. It is made from Burgundy clay so it retains heat longer at the table. It can be placed directly into a preheated oven or in the microwave so soups, stews and beverages can be heated directly in the cup.
Emile Henry is a great creative source for chefs - especially for those often, hard-to-find pieces. Emile Henry pieces fit in well with porcelains of all types and much of the Emile Henry line is oven-table safe, as well.

Emile Henry has been making terrific, high quality ceramic cookware, bakeware, and tableware since 1850 in the south of the Burgundy region of France. With its great thermal properties, brilliant glaze colors, and precision manufacturing processes, Emile Henry is perfect for the demands of foodservice and hospitality markets. There are many points of quality when it comes to making an Emile Henry product and the brief video above illustrates what goes into its production and why the Emile Henry products provide superior service and beauty under even the most demanding conditions.

Emile Henry's pie dishes come in three sizes: the traditional 9" size, an "individual" 4" size, and a "grande" size of 11" in diameter.
According to LA Weekly, "Los Angeles is replete with eateries at all tiers of the culinary spectrum, from truck-stop diner to snazzy bistro, where pie finds a tasty niche." Companies like Emile Henry who have have been at the forefront of creating great pie dishes that work for both the consumer and the hospitality segments. Emile Henry's stoneware pie plates distribute the heat evenly so that the pie bakes consistently throughout.

"These days, you'll also find pie sitting proudly at the crossroads of nostalgia, comfort food and a faddishness for all things homemade. Beyond metaphor or metonymy, however, pie exists as a pure and persistent craving."
claims the LA Weekly aricle. We know that local ingredients and looking baking is (and has been) a growing trend.

If pies are the next great dessert trend in hospitality (think cupcakes), companies like Emile Henry better start baking new inventory of pie dishes to handle the demand.

A tasty problem to deal with for sure!

Emile Henry makes some terrific items for cooking and one of them is this grilling stone. You can read a nice review by www.grillgrrrl.com (nice site, by the way) by going here:

Here's my question....are these strictly consumer items or do they have application in the commercial operation such as cooking at the table, keeping foods warm at the tabletop, etc? Counting on some of my chef readers for help here.

Meanwhile, I'll keep on checking out Emile Henry for cool ideas for tabletop and kitchen.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for a great product shot or a beautiful brochure, but the Emile Henry line looks fantastic! With cookware this good looking, there's never a problem bringing it directly to the table.

Their tagine, made of Emile Henry's proprietary ceramic material Flame - the first ceramic designed to be used directly on a traditional gas or electric stove top - comes in 2 sizes: 13 inch and 14.5 inch. The Henry company has been producing great pottery and cookware since 1850 in the southern part of the Burgundy region of France. Emile Henry's products not only look great but are made with all the technical advantages the professional chef requires.

Emile Henry's U.S. operations are based in Delaware, with their gorgeous lineup of colors (tagine comes in 2 sizes, five colors). to see the complete line of Emile Henry products, go to:  www.emilehenryusa.com
