| Alessi won a 2013 InternationalHousewares Association Global Innovator Award for its MU flatware set designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito. The slim, full handles of the MU flatware feature a hexagonal design and resemble Oriental chopsticks. The MU table service from Alessi includes tablespoon, table fork, tale knife, dessert spoon, dessert fork, dessert knife, pastry fork, teaspoon, coffee spoon and mocha coffee spoon. The range also features serving pieces: salad set, ladle, cake server and serving spoon and fork. Ito recently gained recognition as the 2013 Pritzker Architecture prize laureate. The annual prize, Alessi noted, lauds a living architect "for significant contributions to humanity and the built environment through the art of architecture."
